Sharp Tech Way
8520 Tech Way San Diego, CA 92123Description
The San Diego Immunization Coalition will host an inaugural spring summit called Vaccines for Two on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 8:30 AM to 12 noon at Sharp on Tech Way.
The summit supports a call to action from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, California Department of Public Health, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as other professional organizations to urge staff in medical and health service settings to actively recommend influenza and Tdap vaccines to their pregnant patients. Summit participants will learn about the need for antenatal and neonatal immunization, review maternal and newborn vaccines, and increase skills to encourage expecting parents throughout San Diego County to vaccinate. Additional information will cover birth doses of Hepatitis B vaccine for newborns.
Registration is free for all participants on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that due to the facility’s limited capacity, we only have room to seat about 50-60 people comfortably. *A wait list will be generated once registration is full. To be respectful, we ask registrants to cancel once they are unable to attend so that those on the wait list can participate.
Continuing Education: this event is approved for 3 contact hours by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 579.
